  • The PEI MFRC Inc. serves many functions including providing services and programs to the PEI Military community. Some of these services are of a personal and private nature. Therefore, it is essential that the need for confidentiality be brought to the attention of all Centre staff, board members and those volunteers who conduct volunteer activities on the Centre's premises. In order to guard the right to privacy of all those who use the Centre's resources, services and programs, the PEI MFRC Inc. Board of Directors require that all staff, board members and volunteers read and sign the Oath of Confidentiality. In addition, the PEI MFRC Inc. realizes that many volunteers, board members or staff members are associated with other agencies, groups and projects and they are encouraged to promote the PEI MFRC Inc. whenever possible. However, volunteers, board members or staff members must seek prior authorization from the Chairperson or Executive Director before committing any resources of the PEI MFRC Inc. or making public statements with regard to PEI MFRC Inc. programs or services.

  • PHOTOGRAPHY MEDIA RELEASE AND WAIVER

    The Privacy Code for Military Family Services Programs establishes the standard under which MFRCs can collect and use personal information about the CF personnel and their families. We require your permission to use your photographs, or story in promotional material to promote our projects and programs

    Igrant permission to the PEI Military Family Resource Centre (PEI MFRC), its agents, employees, or assigns, the right to use, reproduce or publish photographs of myself, my spouse and/or our minor child(ren) listed below, for use in MFRC publications and other form of media as identified below. I also grant permission to the MFRC, its agents, employees, or assigns, to offer the identified photographs for use or distribution in other publications, electronic or otherwise, without notifying us. I waive any right to inspect or pre-approve the finished photographs or printed / electronic matter that may be used in conjunction with them; now or in the future. Whether that use is known to me or unknown, I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising from or related to the use of the photographs. I have read this release form and fully understand the contents, meaning and impact of this release. I understand that I am free to address any specific questions regarding this release by submitting those questions in writing prior to signing. I agree that failure to do so will be interpreted as a free and knowledgeable acceptance of terms of this release. This form will be kept on file at the PEI MFRC for a period of 2 years. Volunteers provide valuable services to the PEI MFRC and community. 2.THE RIGHT to fully understand the mission, lines of communication and authority, and the programs and services of the PEI MFRC. 3.THE RIGHT to be placed in a suitable job based on skills, interests and desires in addition to clear outlines of what your job entails and what is expected from you. 4.THE RIGHT to receive orientation, training, and supervision by an experienced, caring and patient staff member or appropriate senior volunteer. 5. THE RIGHT to grow both personally and professionally by graduating from one job to another if desired and to take advantage of professional development opportunities. 6.THE RIGHT to be heard. This includes feeling free to make suggestions, become part of the planning process and be shown respect for a constructive opinion. 7.THE RIGHT to be provided with honest, constructive and supportive feedback by the appropriate staff or appropriate senior volunteer. 8.THE RIGHT to be informed about meetings, special events, professional development opportunities, new or revised policies, procedures, services or programs within the PEI MFRC. 9. THE RIGHT to be recognized for your work. This goes beyond a thank you and includes letters of appreciation, certificates, awards, and a sense of being valued as a team-player. 10. THE RIGHT to stop volunteering and leave with the thanks and best wishes of staff and the Board of Directors.

    VOLUNTEER CODE OF PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE

    1.I WILL carry out, to the best of my abilities, the tasks I have volunteered for. If I have any questions | will immediately contact the appropriate staff person. 2.I WILL represent myself and the PEI MFRC in a responsible and professional manner at all times while volunteering 3. I WILL be a team player. 4. I WILL not make promises I cannot keep. 5. I WILL respect the opinions of others. 6. I WILL welcome supervision by staff or senior volunteers. 7. I WILL heed the "MFRC Oath of Confidentiality". 8. I WILL give the MFRC due notice when I decide to end my volunteer time. 9.I WILL adhere to Centre rules and procedures and the Volunteer policy and procedures guidelines.

  • VOLUNTEER SERVICES AGREEMENT OF EXPECTATIONS

    As a volunteer for the PEI MFRC, I agree to the following: To pledge a commitment of Voluntary service. To accept the duties and responsibilities of the assigned task To commit to completing verbal and written feedback to the Volunteer program. Topromote a positive image of the PEI MFRC within the community. To strive to maintain a smooth working relationship with the staff, volunteers and clients of the PEI MFRC. I will notify my supervisor immediately when a situation arises that I do not have the authority or skill to handle myself. To inform the Volunteer Services Coordinator when I am no longer able to volunteer. (written notification preferred but verbal notice sufficient To respect the confidentiality of all individuals and families that I am in contact with through the PEI MFRC and to sign the Code of Professional Practice. To promptly inform my supervisor if I should be unable to participate when scheduled to do so. To attend the appropriate orientation and training sessions on the recommendation of the PEI MFRC.

  • The Volunteer Services Coordinator agrees to the following: To make it possible for a Volunteer to experience various opportunities within the Centre. To ensure that the Volunteer Services Coordinator is available to facilitate recruitment, initial screening, placement, matching of volunteer opportunities and to provide ongoing support to the Volunteer. To provide the appropriate equipment, working conditions and information necessary to do the assigned task. To ensure that staff members utilize Volunteers effectively and prepare every staff member to accept and respect the Volunteer as a co-worker. To protect and insure the Volunteer against any claims that might result from their authorized activities. To provide Volunteers with an opportunity to meet regularly with one another. To provide verbal feedback on Volunteer performance on a regular basis, keep an account of the Volunteer hours as provided by the supervisors of the volunteers and to update the role and status of the Volunteer when requested. To facilitate regular and ongoing training to volunteers as requested and required. To provide appropriate staff support and supervision. To ensure that all personal information collected is handled properly and adheres to the MFSP Privacy Code.
